Union tattoo is a modern custom tattoo parlour located at 311 Willis St in the vibrant upper Cuba district of Wellington, New Zealand.

We opened our doors in 2015 in one of wellingtons oldest historic buildings, but our unique location isn’t the only thing that sets us apart from your average tattoo shop. We wanted to create a safe space for our customers, Regardless of your gender, ethnicity or sexuality we aim to provide a friendly and comfortable place to get tattooed in.

We are a shop with a different approach to tattooing, our creative artists work closely with you to create the tattoo you deserve helping you put your thought’s and ideas on to skin. We specialize in custom one off tattoos by appointment but also welcome walk ins, first-timers, old timers, ladies, gentlemen, rascals and royalty. Your design or our design Every tattoo is individual and important to us.

We have a varied mix of full time resident artists and frequently host guest artists from around New Zealand and the world. We encourage our resident artists to regularly travel around New Zealand and overseas constantly learning and pushing our art forward, striving to be the best we can be and stay at the forefront of modern tattooing.

Often referred to as “the coolest little capital in the world” Wellington is the heart beat of New Zealands arts and culture and we love being apart of that. Not only do we offer high quality tattooing we also offer our customers a little bit of what makes wellington so great, locally roasted hot coffee, craft beer and local chocolates will make you feel at home the moment you walk into our studio.

How to find us:

Walking:

We are located at the top end of town in the vibrant upper Cuba District, of wellington city. From the CBD you can walk up Willis street towards Aro Valley and find us at the top end on the corner of Willis and Abel smith street, or walk up Cuba Street and turn onto Abel Smith Street and walk down to Willis where you can find us.

Driving:

If you are driving from out of town come into Wellington city on the SH1 southbound motorway, when the motorway ends it turns into Vivian street. Turn right onto Victoria street, drive up two blocks, turn right onto the SH1 northbound, then immediately right onto Willis Street. There are metered street parking spaces outside the shop on Willis street, and coupon parking on Abel Smith street.

Bus:

Many buses travel Willis st as well as Taranaki Street or Dixon Street, which are either parallel to Willis street or intersect it. These are very frequent ie: at least every ten minutes.
